ON THE ISSUES

Putting Indiana First

Hoosiers are tired of the same old career politicians telling you they know better than you. Voters across Indiana want a proven conservative and fresh voice understanding the issues directly impacting their state. Curtis Hill has spent his life serving his community, not his political desires.

On day one, Curtis will advocate for Hoosiers, not Washington DC lobbyists or the Indianapolis establishment. As governor, Curtis will ensure Hoosiers are protected from federal overreach, and Curtis will answer to Indiana voters, not Washington, DC.

Restoring Justice

Justice is the cornerstone of our American republic and our Constitution's bedrock. We must restore faith in our justice system through meaningful reform and transparency. As the former attorney general of Indiana with over 30 years of legal experience, Curtis knows the importance of upholding the law and being a minister of justice. As attorney general, Curtis stood up to a governor who shut down businesses and churches during the Covid-19 pandemic. Curtis stood up to Big Tech monopolies and will continue to fight and protect Hoosiers' privacy, who are concerned about the lengths social media and tech giants will go to collect, steal and abuse personal and private information.

For too long, liberals in Indianapolis have weaponized justice to push their political agenda at the expense of Hoosiers across the state. As attorney general, Curtis brought executive experience to every decision he made to transform the office into the respected institution it is today.

Restoring Faith in Our Institutions

As attorney general and Elkhart County prosecutor, Curtis set new precedents of transparency, efficiency, and accountability. He will do the same as governor. Curtis understands that to govern effectively, the government must operate for, of, and by the people through open channels of communication and understanding.

As governor, Curtis will audit the state government to find unnecessary expenditures so Indiana lawmakers can make appropriate budget cuts. In office, Curtis will implement the same accountability measures that reformed the state’s attorney general’s office to hold government officials, elected leaders, and Indianapolis bureaucrats accountable to Hoosier taxpayers.

Backing the Blue

As attorney general and Elkhart County prosecutor, Curtis has built a reputation as a staunch ally and defender of law enforcement throughout Indiana. Curtis will remain a vocal advocate for law enforcement and fight to provide funding, resources, and protection to police officers across Indiana. During the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, Curtis stood firm in support of law enforcement and used his role as attorney general to provide resources and support to law enforcement agencies across Indiana. As a prosecutor, Curtis worked with law enforcement to proactively target criminal organizations and crack down on violent crime.

As governor, Curtis will continue his crackdown on violent criminals and make Indiana the safest place in America to live, work, and raise a family. Curtis will stand with law enforcement and fight to ensure law enforcement has every necessary tool and resource to keep Indiana’s streets safe. As governor, Curtis will prioritize working with law enforcement agencies to recruit dedicated public servants to help keep our communities safe.

Investing in Students, Not Systems

As a father of five and husband to a schoolteacher, Curtis understands that Hoosier parents are concerned about the quality of education their children receive. As governor, Curtis will prioritize removing radical gender ideology and critical race theory from classrooms so students are taught how to think, not what to think. Curtis believes that if children are taught to think critically, they will not succumb to radical indoctrination.

Growing up in a small community in the 1960s, Curtis understands the implications arbitrary boundaries determined by zip codes have on the quality of education. Curtis believes money should follow the student rather than the system to create fairness in opportunity. Students should not be bound by failing schools with limited options simply because of the street in which they live. By investing in school vouchers, vocational training at the high school level, new print and technological resources, and incorporating new language and learning requirements, Curtis believes Indiana can usher in a new era of educational freedom, free of federal entanglements, that prepares students for an ever-changing global economy. Indiana’s youth inspires Curtis, and he will do everything he can to give them the best opportunity to live and work a successful life right here in Indiana.

Standing Up to Radical Gender Theory

Standing Up To Radical Gender Theory

Curtis, a father to three daughters, understands the immense pressure facing women and girls nationwide. As governor, Curtis will stand up for Title IX and defend the rights of women and girls to compete and earn scholarships for sports on equal footing with men and boys. Curtis will stand up for the safety and integrity of women’s athletics in Indiana.

As attorney general, Curtis stood up to Indianapolis bureaucrats and prohibited the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles from allowing Hoosiers to choose any gender besides male or female on their driver's license. Curtis stood up to government bureaucrats who tried to impose illegal policies on Hoosiers and will continue to do so as governor. Curtis will end radical transgender athletic policies that allow men to compete in women’s sports and fight to keep biological men out of women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

Revitalizing Indiana's Economy

Revitalizing Indiana’s Economy

Hoosiers across Indiana are struggling to make ends meet as historic inflation weakens Indiana’s once prosperous economy. Growing up in a family where his parents sometimes worked multiple jobs to make ends meet, Curtis understands the difficulties facing many Hoosiers.

On day one, Curtis’ top priority will be providing relief to Indiana taxpayers struggling to put food in their fridges and fuel in their tanks. As governor, Curtis will cut wasteful government spending and slash government regulation to allow individuals and small businesses to prosper. Indiana used to house some of the Midwest’s largest corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities. However, big government policies drove these businesses and their resources out of Indiana. President Biden and Democrats in Washington threaten to kill the economic vitality of midwestern states like Indiana. As governor, Curtis will cut taxes and work with businesses to invest in Indiana through job creation and land development.

Nourishing Indiana's Agriculture

Nourishing Indiana’s Agriculture

Indiana has a long and rich history of agricultural innovation and investment. Growing up in Elkhart, Curtis understands the importance of a thriving agricultural economy. Curtis will ensure farmers across Indiana receive the support they need to keep their farms operating and producing. Curtis will continue to stand up to the EPA and federal agencies that seek to overregulate agriculture and crush small ranchers and farmers. Under Curtis’ executive leadership as attorney general, Indiana partnered with President Trump to fight the EPA’s excessive water and land use regulation within state borders, giving power back to Indiana lawmakers and farmers. As attorney general, “AG” stood for “agriculture”— because of Curtis’s efforts to protect Indiana’s agricultural heritage. As governor, Curtis will protect Indiana’s rich agricultural legacy by giving farmers the resources and support they need to preserve the harvest. Through deregulation and cutting restrictive red tape, Curtis will be an advocate for farmers who, for too long, have been ignored by Indianapolis and Washington.

Supporting Indiana’s Small Businesses

As governor, Curtis will fight to cut job-killing regulations and taxes that inhibit healthy economic growth. Curtis understands that Indiana will flourish when entrepreneurs and small business owners have the freedom and environment to do what they do best: innovate and create jobs.

In 2020, businesses were shut down by the overbearing arm of government in the name of executive power. As governor, Curtis will never again allow the government to dictate which businesses survive and which fail. Curtis will work with lawmakers to pass legislation prohibiting Indiana from closing businesses, churches, and schools through emergency orders. As attorney general, Curtis stood up to the Indianapolis establishment, fighting to reopen schools, churches, and businesses. As governor, he will ensure no attorney general has to be in that position again.

Defending Our Second Amendment

At an early age, Curtis learned the importance of the Second Amendment; as a young boy, he witnessed his home and family attacked by racist thugs. From that day forward, Curtis’ father kept his family safe thanks to the constitutional protections of our right to self-defense and the right to bear arms.

Curtis is proud that Indiana is a constitutional-carry state and will stand tall against any attempts to infringe upon our Second Amendment rights.

Protecting the Sanctity of Life

A Christian and father, Curtis and his wife Teresa are deeply pro-life and know that life begins at conception. In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade and made abortion a state issue. As governor, Curtis will defend the sanctity of life and support legislation that restricts access to abortion. Abortion is both a legal and a moral issue, and there is no issue more critical to justice than protecting society’s most vulnerable: the unborn.

Curtis believes in justice for all Hoosiers, born and unborn. One of Curtis's most unforgettable moments of his tenure as attorney general was the discovery in an Illinois garage of more than 2,411 aborted Indiana children in the personal belongings of a deceased abortion doctor. Curtis returned the remains of the victims to Indiana and held a graveside service where he vowed to fight for the sanctity of life and honor the memory of these children who were never given their chance at life. Through that service, Curtis restored the humanity these children were denied in life.
